- I have a USR Sportster 28.8 modem. My ISP installed three phone lines with
- USR 28.8 Sportster modems, and later a modem pool with 28.8 modems of a
- different brand.
-
- When I call in, I ALLWAYS connect at 28.8 to the USR modems, but NEVER at
- this speed to the newer modems (usually at 24.0, but sometimes at 26.4).
-
- I find this strange. I would expect to either be able to connect (at least
- sometimes) at 28.8 to the newer modems. Or alternately SELDOM or NEVER at
- 28.8 to the USR modems.
-
- Am I missing something?
